Abe McIntyre, Executive Director, Bahamas Methodist Habitat, Eleuthera, The Bahamas

“Since 2005, Bahamas Methodist Habitat, an outreach ministry of The Bahamas Conference of the Methodist Church, has hosted over 5,000 volunteers throughout The Bahamas, Turks & Caicos, Haiti and United States. Families and volunteers alike have felt the presence of God through relationships built via disaster management and emergency home repair. In the summer of 2007, I helped organize Bahamas Habitat. I split my time between working with volunteer teams and the families they serve. I coordinate flights, work on construction projects and raise awareness about substandard housing issues. I earned my pilot’s license in 2012, which improves my travel efficiency throughout the islands and region. I am truly thankful for the foundation in which, “my love for God and service to others”, has shaped the way I live. I enjoy making myself available by answering the age-old question of, ‘Whom shall I send?’ with ‘Send Me!’”
