Camp Symonette is home base for visiting US missions. Built in the 1970s as a summer camp for the youth of The Bahamas by the family of Sir Roland Symonette, the first Premier of The Bahamas, it became a part of The Bahamas Conference of the Methodist Church in 1992. Each year the camp hosts more than 600 youth from the US who help provide disaster relief and community-building, including home repairs, painting, plumbing and other assistance after storm damage. The camp still honors its past and welcomes Bahamian youth for two weeks of vacation camp each summer. To donate to Camp Symonette, click here.
